African violet propigation

Hi can anyone tell me the best way to propigate african violets? I look forward to your input thanks. :?: :)

My mom used to just stick the leaves into some soil and they would root...
No idea if she did anything special with them. I doubt it though...

Many standard African violets can be rooted by placing the petiole of a leaf in water. Some of the fancier violets are more difficult, especially the chimeras. Is your violet a named variety? :)

I had an african violet that got huge - I just divided it into 3 plants and replanted them and they are doing great. I was scared to do it at first, but it worked out great! :wink:
