Ideas please: Pretty plants for Eastly window of living room

Hi

I have a new spot, and a new pot, which means an excuse for a new plant! :D I would love your creative ideas for what I could plant here...

The currently empty pot is on tall pedestal table behind an armchair, by an East-facing window. It gets a mix of direct and dappled sun from dawn until about 10.30am, then bright shade thereafter.

Thanks for your ideas :)

A couple of standard African violets would be pretty there. Mine are in a west window, at the moment, but I've had them in an east window before. The standard violets stay in bloom for months at a time. Then they rest for 4 to 6 weeks before they bloom again. :)

I'd be tempted to put in something really showy - Anthurium andreanum comes to mind, since it would love that kind of light conditions. Some of the newer cultivars are just stunning, too - particularly the deep burgundy-spathed ones.

Dwarf Zantedeschia or Calla would also probably do well there.
