What to plant for winter growing

I want to sow something now that can grow and live through the winter.

That means that it will have to rely mostly indoor light.
Is it possible?
Which plants can I grow for this purpose?

Greens are usually fairly easy to grow indoors. If you set up some supplemental lighting, you can grow most plants indoors. The size of the mature plant should be considered, of course. Most types of greens don't take up much space, but some varieties of tomato plants can get very large.
