Can anyone identify this plant and make recommendations?

When I bought this plant the salesperson called it some kind of palm, beginning with the letter "p". After looking online, I wonder if it is a podocarpus (that might be the word he said), which would make it a kind of pine. I want to keep it as a small plant, preferably in my garden window, so besides wanting to know what it is, I want to know how to keep it pruned it so it won't grow into a tree. don't know, but I looked up podocarpus and your plant doesn't look very much like the pictures to me:

Returned to Container Gardening at member's request.

It doesn't look like any kind of palm tree to me ... not with that branch that goes off toward the right side of the picture. It does somewhat resemble some members of Podocarpus .. to me, anyway ... but I'm not at all enough of a tree person to be certain. Also, if it is something like Podocarpus macrophyllus (also called Japanese yew and Shrubby Podacarpus), which is in the foreground of this image, then it's a seedling. I'm even worse at seedling tree ID than I am at mature tree ID.

Looks to be a young Raphis palm that just needs to fill in a bit.
