Leaf shine for indoor plants - harmless or not???

Hi

I've seen products for making the leaves of indoor plants look lovely and glossy... Are these really OK for plants, or detrimental to their health?

Is there a safe natural way to keep leaves glossy?

:)

I have one of those "Grandma's Secrets" kind of books. In it, one advice is to use left-over milk to wipe both sides of houseplant leaves for glossy shine. We now know, of course, that the milk can promote lactobacilus growth and provide anti-fungal/fungicidal activity, though how that relates to shiny leaves, or if it does at all, I've no idea. :D

Maybe you could experiment on one leaf?

Regarding milk on the leaves.. I heard that it helps very well against disease/insects.
Worth a try
