Indoor Ficus Tree sprouting mystery mushrooms!

I have a large ficus tree standing indoors, directly next to my patio door (it loves this spot, and since ficus trees don't like being moved, I let it be except to rotate it now and then). I noticed this morning that 3 yellow mushrooms have sprouted in a group in the soil of the ficus. Can someone tell me why this would happen? I am a newbie to this forum and will appreciate any feedback from members. Thanks a bunch! :)

Sometimes spores are in the potting mix when the plant is potted. I've seen some come up many years later. Pop the caps off before they open fully. You can dig down and remove the entire area and replace with fresh soil.

Exactly what I was going to say. Though, it may not have even been spores, could have just been some fungal mycellia (cells) in the potting soil. Not to worry.

FYI:

Mushrooms are just the fruiting bodies of fungi and that is where the spores are made.
