I want to plant some flowers in a container & put them on the porch...what are some kitty safe plants?

I don't want to harm our kitty & she tends to love munching on plants.

There are many flowers that are safe for cats. I assume you're looking for annuals? What direction does your porch face, and will the flowers get a lot of sun, just a little, or none?

If you want to check whether a certain plant is safe, the ASPCA makes it easy. Here's a list they publish of plants that are toxic to animals. If you want you can set it for just plants toxic to cats, or dogs, horses...

If your just looking to add a fast growing annual to your porch but worried about the cat why not grow catnip, no flowers so no color other than green but your kitty will love you!

I will have to check out that website- thats good to know about. I'm always concerned about plants in our house cause she just chomps on them like there is no tomorrow!

Catmint too. But you'll most likely need to protect your small plants initially or your cat and other cats will demolish them. Even after they're well-grown, you may end up needing to provide some protection. I have catnip growing in several locations, and earlier in the spring, my cats pulled up new sprouts (soft moist ground -- roots pulled up easily) and destroyed a few plants. In the years past, my cats and other cats have ROLLED in the clump of mature catnip with similar results.
