Certainly! I move mine around as needed to provide the plants with better light, more or less exposure to the rain, whatever they need. :)

And a warm welcome to the forum! I'm glad you found us! :)

The only plant I know of that objects to being moved, even to better conditions, is the Ficus benjamina. Edible figs (also a sp. of Ficus) LOVE better conditions, as do all veggies in containers.

So let 'em soak up that sun. But give them shade cloth or relief when temps go much above 90 or so; tomatoes "sulk" when temps get too hot.

jr, IMO, once your tomato plants get going, big and staked, not that easy to move! Here you usually don't put starts out until 1st May. Last frost about April 15, but wait until things are warm. By then you know the sun on your selected space. Full sun usually means about 6 hrs, and they need it! And have pots where they get real rain, not under eaves and just watered.
Hope this helps.

All my ‘big’ pots are on rollers for this reason specifically (tomato on the left).

It also helps to be able to quickly pull them back out of harms way during big storms etc.

Mine are currently sitting on gravel, so I just drag them where I want them. If I need to move them more than a few feet, I have a dog crate dolly, left over from my dog showing days. It looks like this:

It makes it very easy to haul stuff around. I also have 2 furniture dollies -- large and small -- but the dog crate dolly serves best for moving plants in large containers. :)
