Below are the pictures of alyssum which I bought on around 7 feb - they were covered with blooms. They stopped blooming after nearly 10 days- old blooms started dying while it did have number of buds ready to bloom but they r not blooming. withing 2 weeks all the white flowers disappeared. There are no signs of distress either.
Whats wrong? They do get little sunlight...whenever there is sun!

I get very little sun these days but hopefully will have sun by this month end in my patio (sun totally moves out of my patio in winters) ...its coming back slowly. I will try to put hanging basket also in sun from now on.The Helpful Gardener wrote:I think you have named your own problem and you know what it is...
More llight would certainly help. These plants like lots...
Your soil looks a tad barky, or is that just mulch?. You could be locking nitrogen up in trying to digest all the wood...
HG
The soil is Gardners potting soil...I have added nothing to it.
oh !! I think it has already set seeds..... rushing to deadhead it right now.rainbowgardener wrote:Definitely more light. But when the flowers are spent you need to shear them off--just go over the plant with a little scissors cutting all the flowering tips off. It's the small scale version of deadheading. For it to rebloom, you need to prevent it from setting seed.
