Safe Peace Lily Substitute

I was going to get my wife a peace lily for her birthday, but it turns out that the peace lily is on a few lists as toxic towards cats, if they eat it. Are there any flowers similar to a peace lily that is non-toxic towards children and animals?

Interesting question... the trouble is in the part about flowers similar to a peace lily. What counts as being similar to the peace lily? I first thought about a white calla lily, but unfortunately, I think it's probably more toxic than the peace lily. How about a gardenia? They are commonly grown as house plants, have beautiful white flowers and have beautiful fragrance (which the peace lily doesn't) and is listed as non-toxic.
