Hi,
I'm wondering how deep of a container should be used for growing Blue Lake Bush beans. Do these beans root deeply?
Also, how tall can I expect them to get (will I need stakes or a trellis)?
Thanks for any advice!

Bush beans can grow in a rather small containers because the root system for a bush bean plants extends about four to five inches down. So they'll need at least 6" depth of soil, but 8-10" deep would be ideal. Don't forget to water and fertilize regularly!
Bush beans are just a couple of feet high and freestanding. It is usually claimed that bush bean plants do not require any support, but they are shallow-rooted, and I have sometimes found that heavily-bearing plants will tip over.
