House plant.

Was the only place I could see that this could go.. Hope it`s OK.
Anyway`s I was given this plant and would really like to know it`s name.
I hope that some one know`s this plant.
I would also like to know how to cut the new plant let that is grown on a stem.

I'm not sure; possibly a Strelitzia, or Bird of Paradise?

I will move this to the Container Gardening section as there are some tropical types over there; not my specialty...

It's not a Bird of Paradise. I think it could be a type of Hedychium, but I don't know for sure.
