hi
I currently have some strawberry plants in hanging baskets. Will it be possible to keep them over winter? Should I bring the baskets inside, or should I move the plants into the ground once they have finished fruiting this year?

Last winter, I overwintered potted Venus Fly Traps for the first time. After a hard freeze (it was Nov 25 in southern NJ -- zone 6/7 border), I put all the pots in a large cooler in the garage, bid them "good night," and left them there until March 26 (when daytime temp reliably stayed above 35ºF). I lost one plant -- a very young offshoot -- out of 5 but the other 4 survived and are doing fine. I wonder if this would work for potted strawberries too? Anyone?
