peaches under attack

So miraculously our peaches survived an onslaught of late frosts and seemed to be doing well. But now a number of the fruits seem like they are being attacked by something.

they have little piles of sticky stuff on them. It is clear and solid, not like syrup, more like some kind of resin. The pile consists of a bunch of small spheres mushed together. They rub off easily, but leave a dark spot behind. The resin-y stuff is a bit stretchy, like when people used to use tree resin for chewing gum. Touched to the tongue, it is very slightly sweet.

But I think it is harming the peaches. It seemed like there were a lot more of them and they are just disappearing (there are not a bunch of fallen ones on the ground).

Anyone know what this is and what I can do about it? Thanks so much!!!

That looks like a reaction to insect damage Rainbow. The peach exudes that gum like substance at the damage site. Leaf Roller ca be a typical culprit
