Cantaloupe Question

Hi Folks,

The cantaloupes are about half the size of normal ripe fruit. They seem to be growing well, but I'm noticing that all the older leaves are now starting to get a hint of yellow. I tested the soil with a wetness meter and the soil is moist, but not wet. Is the beginning yellowing normal? If not what can I do about it?

Thanks
Bart

Yellowing leaves could be many things. Could be excess moisture. Could be soil outside optimal pH range which will cause poor absorption of nutrients. Could be low nitrogen or low level of some other nutrient. A little yellowing is probably no big deal as long as most the plant and fruit continues to look healthy.
