Chances of tree surviving bark damage

Fri Jul 22, 2016 1:34 pm

I got a new mini cherry tree and it has a ring about a centimeter thick of back missing amount the tree amount where the graft is. Will the bark grow back as i can see the green layer at the moment.

Providing the cambium layer is undamaged Ben, new bark will grow.
Is the ring right round the tree?

It goes round just below the graft its only tiny so i think it should heal, the trunk isnt even an inch thick yet. Its just a green ring amound the tree
