Don't know what's happening to my watermelon, please help! The leaves near the center are turning yellow and it appears to be slowing working its way outward. It's getting more and more yellow each day. Details below:
Golden midget watermelon
20 inch diameter, 20 gallon container
Water every day - two gallons
Using Espoma Tomato-Tone fertilizer as instructed every week or so
Potting media is Purple Cow potting mix with coconut coir as mulch
In full sun
Located in Chicago

Please help, I don't want it to die! Thank you much!

I thought I already responded to this post!
I've grown Golden Midget for 3 years now.
The first year I drove my self crazy trying to green it up. I over fertilized 2 of them. The rest put out lush green growth....that turned yellow. No melons.
The next year, I fed them moderately, what I would normally do for melons. Grew Ambrosia melon and moon and stars on both sides. Ambrosia and M&S were beautiful green and full, while Golden midget was puny and yellow.... But we got melons! And plenty of them! Tiny canteloupe sized golden melons! And everywhere a melon grew, the leaves turned yellow....:/
This year, we have some in large pots, and some in new beds, and some in the big garden.
All yellow.
Just feed them normally, and they'll stay..........yellow! ;>
