My Syzygium cumini tree won't bare fruit

I have had a Jamun tree (Syzygium cumini) for over 15 years and it has never bared any fruit. I live in Florida (zone 9b) and one time we had a bad freeze and the tree dried up and had to be cut down, but it grew back from the trunk and it has been 5 years since then, and nothing has grown. Is there any way I can induce fruiting?

I had to look this one up. There are so many tropical and subtropical plants that I am unfamiliar with. It sounds like a particularly useful plant that grows huge! I guess not one I could try to grow in containers here.

So, how old is your tree? Do you know if it was a budded/grafted tree? If it had died to the ground, the grafted desirable upper portion of the tree may have been killed off, and you could be only growing the rootstock at this point.
