A year or two back I bough a cheap bush / shrub (or possibly tree?

) at a farmer fair. I used to know the name but as always I forgot

Anyone know what this could possibly be?

How about an Abelia Grandiflora? it looks similar to my 'Confetti' variety. The stems have that redish hue I'm seeing in your photo as well.

Nope, not that, Pinksand. The leaves are quite similar, but not the flowers...

It had just started to bloom a couple days ago.

That bud looks like Hypericum

Any suggestions about how to prune it?

Mine in the garden is hacked about with a pair of shears...doesn't seem to worry it.

What shrub could this be...
