Pairing trees

Good afternoon, I am getting a 5 in 1 plum tree and I was told I "needed to buy two of them so they can pollinate each other". I have a fig tree in my yard now, is the statement true or can I use my fig tree to help pollinate each other??

Who are you buying this from? Usually the whole point of grafted "5-in-1" fruit tree is that there are multiple varieties grafted on a single tree and the blossoms from different branches will cross pollinate each other. So you should only need the one tree.

You should ask what each of the 5 varieties are.

BTW fig is a complete different species and cannot pollinate plum.
