Ben Hur Pomegranate

I Have planted a Ben Hur Pomegranate.
It has ben approx 2 weeks and it looks like it is not doing well. The leaves are starting to fall off. Looks like it is dying.
It is a baby tree. I took it out of the pot and put it in a sunny area in the yard.

Is this normal this time of year SPRING? Or have I done something wrong. Should I have left it in pot untill it gor bigger?
