Ugh! Fall Webworms!

Yesterday, I noticed that the elderberry shrub near the back fence was starting to wilt due to extended drought and started to water it, then realized that some of the limp ness was due to MASSIVE infestation of Fall Webworms. :x more on the mulberry!

Switched gears and clipped off all that I could reach, stuffed them in an empty soil bag (I save them for yard debris that needs to be put in trash, that would puncture ordinary trash bags) and then thoroughly stomped on it, smoothing out flat by sliding my booted feet in a crude dance on the pavement. Mincing tiny steps, sliiide, sliiiide, turn and repeat!

Then,my here was one of those "shoppers" ad-newspaper in a long bag at the bottom of the driveway -- perfect! -- slipped the paper out to put in paper recycling bin, and used the long plastic bag to securely tie off the soil bag to throw away. Bye-bye webworms!
