Non fruiting Blackcurrant bush

Inplanted 2 black currant bushes earlier this year from small canes and have gotten huge, big leaves bushy healthy but no fruit they even smell like Blackcurrant . I heard they don't fruit first year, is this the case?

Correct, they have to be a certain size and age before the bear generally. Relax, give them a chance to grow.
