Worm identification help

First time gardener here and I finally got around to trying to figure out what's been eating at my strawberry leaves. I found one worm on a leaf. Was wondering what it is and how to prevent them. Could there be more than this one?

and oh yes, things in nature do not come in ones. If you have one, you pretty definitely have more than one. Keep looking!

The adult is the corn earworm moth, a kind of non-descript yellowish brownish medium sized moth. She would have laid a bunch of eggs, which became your caterpillars.
