Caterpillars on raspberry leaves

I found a bunch of little green caterpillars eating holes in my raspberry leaves. I picked them off and squished them. Is there any more effective method of control? Anyone know what kind of caterpillar this is?

Thuricide BT is a good organic insecticide for many types of caterpillars. Once you know what type of caterpillar you have you could check the list of insects it works on. :)

I'm pretty sure these are sawfly larva/maggots and not caterpillars. I was noticing the same kind of holes in my rapberries today, but I didn't see the culprits. I'm hoping that the gold finches that were hopping around in the raspberries yesterday in great excitement might have been snacking on them....

Darn. I did a google search and I'm pretty sure you're right. Eyes and too many legs. Can you send your birdies over to eat mine?!
