Root Stock of Kumquat tree

I planted a Meiwa kumquat tree and the top part of it died. I am left with the root stock which is growing very well. My question is will the root stock bear fruit?

I suspect the rootstock is sour orange. You may get fruit but you might not like it much. You may also find the structure of the tree is compromised and won't look good.

Thank you for your reply. I guess I will just wait and see if I get fruit. The tree has really grown quite a bit and has a nice shape to it.
