Pear tree questions

We recently moved and have inherited two pear trees in our back yard. They are not very big, or full yet but do have some small fruit on them.
My question is the leaves on one of the trees in particular have brown spots and also look as if the leaves have been chewed off in some areas.
I can take a pic if necessary, but does anyone know what this could be ? I know nothing about fruit trees, these are my first.

The most likely cause is Scab cher68.
It's a fungal disease that is common on both apples and pears. It may cause lesions on the skin of the fruit later on as well I'm afraid....although the fruit is fine to eat still...it's just spoilt as regards looks.
Providing the infections are mild there is no worries...but if it gets bad you may have to apply some precautionary sprays to protect newly emerging leaf and fruit.
