Watermelon - soft yellow spots (harvesting)

Hello again. I just went out to the garden, and noticed that I have 4-5 melons that have soft, yellow spots on top of them. Does this mean they're overripe, or inedible, or will just not be that good?

Also, new melons have never stopped appearing. When the weather gets cold, I'm assuming these new ones will just never ripen and die?

Nothing there that I saw about what it means when they're soft in spots.
