Pineapple passion

Hey so I recently bought a pineapple plant. It being my first fruit plant/tree I was wondering if there were any specific tips for a pineapple? I want it to get as big as possible so I'm wondering if I should re-pot it since it came in a dinky plastic one with what seems like not so good soil....I've read that some put a plastic bag over to keep it humid? Seems unethical to me...I'm jus watering every other day and givin a good mist...much appreciated!!

Hey ChemoKID. Ken here in the Chicago area. Welcome to the Forum.
Your pineapple needs 6 hours of bright light a day. Set it near a window
or sliding glass door. It prefers a temperature of 65-75 degrees F (minimum of 60 degrees).
In the winter, at night, move it away to prevent freezing. If you want to use gro lights,
keep them on for 12-14 hours a day.
Your pineapple doesn't need a lot of water. Wet the soil once a week.
Fertilize carefully and about once a month. Follow instructions for ‘small shrubs’ on
the label. By the way, repot into a 7 or 8 inch pot with well draining, moisture
retentive soil. I hope this helps. Take care.
