Watermelon

I have never tried growing them but I bought some this weekend. It looks as if there are two or three plants in a one cell. Do I plant them like that or do I separate them? How close can I plant them?

When I do plant them should I bury them a little deeper to encourage stronger root growth?

I would plant them all together in hole the same size as the container , carefully remove from old pot and bury only up to container depth , no more watermelons do not form roots up to leaves like tomatoes , this will only cause rot if you plant deeper , then see how each
Plant does and when you see one emerging as the best pinch out the rest( do not pull ) , ps be very careful with the roots

It depends where you are gonna plant them. In the garden?
I'll plant them in one mound about 5cm from each other. They really grow to cover a big area. . I made mounds & planted 5 seeds like the dots in a 5 side of a dice. Unfortunately I don't have pics of the mounds & seedlings

I got about 1500 watermelons last year. Estimate of 3 - 4 watermelons per plant. :D
