Strawberries are SO TINY, help? What do they need?

I have a nice strawberry plant (I cheated and bought it from Home Depot!) LOL! It started giving me strawberries but they are TINY, MINIATURE strawberries when they ripen. What are they lacking which is stunting their growth? Or what are they getting too much of? Help! Thanks fellow friends and gardeners! :)

They are sweet and delicious, but so tiny it's comical.

Did you plant an alpine strawberry variety?

No they are just standard strawberries.

I'm not one that knows a whole lot, but could it be if there are runners on the plant? Or maybe the needs to thin out the strawberries?

I don't know? How big / old is the plant?

How did you plant them? Most likely, they still need to establish their roots. When I get bareroot strawberry plants from good sources, most of them have 6-8" roots which would not fit in the little 3-4" pots strawberry plants are sold in.

I had the same thing happening, what I did is put them on a bigger container, cut off the strawberries till the plant got bigger and also let the roots grow, next batch was pretty big berries

Thanks so much everyone, yeah it sounds like they're a little too crowded and I will need to put them in a bigger pot. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks everyone! :)

I got mine from Home Depot last year. I had some big ones but most of them came in small. This year they're coming in MUCH better.
