I have Cumberland wild black raspberries native to TN they grow like black berries nothing to do what watch them grow & harvest the berries. The plants I see at Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart is strange nothing like real blackberry plants.

So far my experience with Heritage Raspberries has been that you don't need to do anything but manage where you want them to grow as they will expand rapidly. I think this is generally the case with these types of plants. Of course they need sufficient nutrients, water and light, but they seem to make do just fine with little of all three.
