I got a small eureka lemon tree and just today I was given a small persian lime tree. I am trying to figure out a location for the lime tree but don't know if I have to worry about cross pollination. Also is it absolutely necessary to pot it with acidic soil?

Yes, you can. The resulting plant is called a "Sprite" plant.

They can absolutely cross-pollinate, but it only affects the seeds, not the fruit. It should actually up the yeild on both trees!

I wouldn't say that acid soils are absolutely necessary - the best citrus in Ecuador comes from a region that gets regular dumpings of fairly alkaline volcanic ash. I'd say that the larger concern is keeping the trees well-fed, for which (since you definitely don't have an active volcano handy) I'd recommend Osmocote or Sumicoat I slow-release ferts.

Cool. Yeah I don't plan on saving seeds. I have some citrus tone I gave my lemon tree. I will look into the stuff you recommend. Thx
