Peaches and Raspberries

Never happy and one is never enough!

The bare root fruit trees arrived at the local lumber yard / hardware. Hard to drive by without one jumping into the truck. Frost Peach this time. Brought it home and planted. Stood back and looked at where I planted it. One day this will shade the raspberries. So what do you do. Yep! you move the raspberries.

I moved the raspberries along the vegetable garden fence, between the fence and main path.

Then a covered the soil with cardboard.

Last step was about 3 large wheelbarrows full of horse manure.

With the raspberry patch moved maybe a couple more fruit trees will sneak into the truck.

Looks great Eric. What kind of raspberries you growing?

Bare roots haven't shown up locally yet, but I just ordered a few from Raintree. I'm closing in on 20 trees. They sure add up fast. No fruit to show for it yet except a few mulberries and a fig.

Had a big old flock of Robins and several other birds all over the yard today. The blasted Starlings showed up too...

Spring is just around the corner. 8)

Thank you,

I think the raspberries are a mixture of Red Heritage and Summit. The last couple of seasons have been poor. It may be time to buy fresh stock.

I'm in the 50 plus range on fruit / nut trees. Raintree, Burntridge, Bear Creek, Vibrants Plants Inc., Lawyer Nursery Inc and locally. The last two nursery are through my brother, he has a nurseryman's license.
