I keep wondering when my blueberry bush is going to drop its leaves, but so far it hasn't. The past couple of days we've had a good amount of frost on everything outside, including my blueberries, but they don't seem to even be hinting at dropping leaves. If this is the case, I'll buy more bushes for next year!
The one bush I have, I bought as a bare root (I think it had one branch on it) in March this year. Right now, there are dark green leaves and the stalks and some leaves are turning a really pretty red color. I don't know how much that narrows it down though...lol
Everything seems to be late this year. If the leaves are turning reddish they will come off. If they are really blueberries they should drop their leaves in the next 2-3 weeks or so. If they are really classified as huckberries then they are evergreen.
As I mentioned, I'm not sure what variety they are. I should have kept the tag. I bought it in a one gallon container at Walmart this spring. The tag said blueberries, but I can't remember which variety they are lol
