How to Harvest Pecan Nuts?
I live in lexington ky and am trying to find out about how to harvest the peacom nuts any one know why the are not bust open on the tree and are they good if they don't have found some in yard that were good just don't know how to ripeing them
what I need to know do I peel them out of green shell how long after do I let dry how long do I leave them in green shell all that I have cracked have been dry or very soft and bitter I thought the fell from green shell from tree as from nut they are not doing that here they fall incased in green shell
thats why I'm surprized that they are falling unshelled I know the animals are knocking alot of them down so if the don't fall split open they are no good I have peel some of the green one that have great formed nuts but of course the are soft and bitter bought this house with big peacon tree in front was hopeing to eat some but thank you for the info
