Reviving a hardy kiwi plant?

Hi. I planted a hardy kiwi a few weeks back. It did well at first and its four branches have now climbed to about 5ft each.

But after a couple days of recent hot weather some of the branches have started withering, the top foot or two of most of them.

I'm wondering what I should do (besides watering more often) to revive it - cut off the withered parts? cut off each affected branch completely? Any advice much appreciated!

I'd cut back the withered parts, then rig some sort of shadecloth for it - that kind of response is typical of sun-shock on Kiwis. If you can shade it during the hottest part of the day (when I'll bet it's getting direct sun), it will bounce right back.
