First raspberries!!

I had 4 raspberries on my plants today! Yummy!! There are a few more coming. I planted them this spring and wasn't expecting any fruit this year, so it was a nice surprise.

I love raspberries, but they are so darn expensive -both in the store and the farmer's market. So, I planted a small plot hoping that I will eventually have enough to satisfy my tastebuds :D

When is the right time to cut them back? These are the kind that get fruit in the summer and early fall.

I agree, I love fresh raspberries & they are too expensive. I got 2 plants last fall & they are producing well, I can't wait to harvest the fruit. :D

Cut them back in the fall when they are done producing fruit.

I used a handful of black raspberries in my protein shake yesterday, they were sooo good!

I'd recommend pruning back your brambles when the plants are dormant, usually November or December. :D
