Hanging Strawberry Plants

Are the hanging strawberry plants produce more than the upright strawberry plant?

Most healthy strawberry plants with a good root system will grow well whatever position you put them in.
Trailing over the edge of baskets or even from the base of hanging pots.
In fact there are long 'sleeves ' that can be filled with compost and planted all the way up the sides so that you finish with a wall of fruit.

My neighbour at our community gardens grows strawberries in the hanging pots, and they grow nicely. There are a few problems though -you have to water it a lot and pots weigh a lot too. But the berries are clean and slugs don't reach them.
