Tearful Peaches?

We have a peach tree. It was here when we bought the house, and I have no idea about the variety. Every year it sets lots of fruit, and every year some enterprising animal, deer? raccoon? manages to steal every bit of fruit just before we pick it! All we get a hundred or more stones scattered around the ground under the tree!

Also every year we observe the peaches "weeping" a little bit of clear sticky fluid. Is this normal?

 I feel your pain. I live in a wooded area myself and have critters too. You can try hanging foil pie pans and bells from the limbs these will make noise and the shiny pie pans reflect light birds don't like. I don't have a problem with deer cuz I have a very tall fence. My thiefs are squirels and birds, but you could try anything that could make noise. We hunt and I know that deer don't like human oders so you could get creative in that area. My peaches seep sugar in spots I just cut that away.
