American Persimmon Trees, Can They Self-Pollinate?

I love persimmon trees and have been thinking of buying one to put in my yard, but I'm wondering if they are self pollinating or not? We used to have a persimmon tree several years ago, the one with the small, flattened peach shaped fruit, not the huge glossy fruit, and if memory serves me right, we only had one of those trees and it produced fruit every year, until it got knocked down by a bad storm :( Anyway does anyone know if there are American Persimmon varieties that are self-pollinating, and if so, can you tell my of any websites where I can buy them? I have noticed that not many nurseries or garden centers seem to sell persimmon trees.

pretty sure they're mostly dioecious (need another tree of the other sex to get anything); though they frequently have both sexes on the same tree when they're younger, that tends to go away as they age.

as far as nurseries that carry them, I know 'one green world', out in oregon, carries several varieties...a friend of mine in black mountain, nc, carries at least the the variety 'meader,'...didn't check where you are before writing this...

I found this article particularly helpful in understanding how American persimmons are pollinated.

I bought Prok from Stark Brothers... at the moment I can't remember why  because at one point, I was planning to get Early Golden and Morris Burton from Nolin Nursery.
