Does anyone have a dwarf lemon tree?
I love love love lemons! But there's no way one would survive in Indiana unless it was indoors...so I've been thinking about a dwarf lemon tree. Does anyone have one? How well does it do? Are they hard to take care of? What's the upkeep? Thanks!

I have a Meyers Lemon in my greenhouse year around. It's not a true lemon, but a lemon orange cross. Looks like a lemon and pretty much taste also.
No fruit so far, but looks promising this year. I was told my small tree could handle 10 to 14 fruits. Will see. Some are just starting to form.

What is it about the weather in Indiana that forces you to grow the tree indoors?
My medium size lemon tree is outside on the balcony in Jerusalem and has survived all kinds of weather - from intense heat to wind and snowstorms. Admittedly, it is not generally humid here and it gets a lot of sun most of the year.
All I have needed to do was buy the tree, earth, and pot that it sits in, otherwise, it's only needed watering. Not too expensive. Maybe I should be giving it some extra nutrients, but it is bearing fruit and not looking unhappy.
I would ask for a hardy type if you can.
Best of luck!
