Strawberry spacing

Planing things for next year, I had a great website on strawberry spacing but seem to have lost it (darn my sloppy bookmarking!).

Can anyone tell me how far apart to plant strawberries?

I need to calculate how much space I need for how many plants I want :D.

Hi Nes.
Most planting is done in rows.
The usual distance between rows is around 3ft.
This allows easy access to the fruit and some room to have a few runners for further propagation.

The distance between plants can vary from 8 inches to a foot and a half. It depends a lot on how long you want to leave the crop in the ground before you remove and replant.

Some people replant each year then the distance can be very close.
If you expect the bed to last a few years then go for the greater spacing to allow the plant to grow a much larger crown.

Thank you! That was very helpful, I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet but I'm writing that all down in my gardening notebook :)
