My families crabapple tree

Hi
My family has had a crabapple tree that produces about 300-400 crabapples every year and most of them are usually ruined by insects. So this year I decided to use an organic pesticide. However the apples still have little brown spots (shown in picture). The spots are not deep in the apple at all . I was wondering if these spots are still from insects? Are they still edible or when I open it will it have a worm or some other bugs?

Thanks

Not sure what causes it, but I have seen apples that look just like that, that were perfectly fine inside.

I'm pretty sure that's apple scab, which is a fungal disease. Here is a link to one site with information about it, but there are many more, if you care to research it:

It is Apple Scab Kurite.
It's a fungal infection that hits apples and pears.
I'm afraid that there are no sprays that can actually kill the fungus once the infection has taken hold so you have to apply protective sprays to stop spores from taking hold in the first place.
It will also damage the leaves and can infect the actual wood as well.
It does not affect the fruits taste at all and is mainly a cosmetic problem.
Spraying the trees in the growing season when the weather is warm and damp will help control as the time of the deseases sporilation ( known as a Mills Period ) is in the wet & warm times.

Jona.
