Help for a Cantaloupe Vine Split- Not Borers

I have a cantaloupe vine that is growing rapidly (organic gardening methods too!!!!!!!). It is climbing, per some recommendations I found from other growers. I know I must tend to the fruits' weight as they grow!

My problem right now, however, is that one of it's tendrils wrapped so tightly over night that it brought the whole vine in another direction, cracking the vine open slightly. There are quite a few female flowers on my vine and I am really hoping to make sure it stays healthy.

Should I be worried about the split/crack? What can I do to help my pride and joy cantaloupe??!?!?! Does this make my plant more susceptible to borers?

Thank you all in advance for your help!
