If I cut off runners from my plant will it produce more fruit?

Everbearing plants will likely produce more fruit this season if you remove the runners. June bearers will likely produce more fruit next season if you remove the runners. You probably want to let at least a couple of runners make fresh plants on each parent plant. That keeps a stock of young vigorous plants in your bed and keeps the bed going for a few years.

My strawberry plants that were planted in March are producing a lot of runners right now. I'm also getting a few ripe berries here and there already I've been cutting off the runners. Will the plants produce more runners AFTER fruiting? I was thinking I'd save some runners after the June fruiting was done....
