Kumquat Tree (Fortunella Margarita) - how to keep it fruity?

Hi, I bought a kumquat tree today, and it has many fruits on the tree already. To help it with the heavy load I decided to harvest some of the fruit and eat them haha! There's still loads of fruit left, but I'm just anxious that after I've eaten them all, will there be anymore?? Is there a way to maybe prune it, or fertilize it, which will help it maintain it's fruitiness??
