Another strawberry question

I live in western KY. I have a large terra cotta strawberry planter that I managed to fill all the pockets with 3 mother plants and their runners last year.

Question is when should I start seeing them come back to life?

Last year was my first for growing strawberries, so when the summer ended and all my other veggies were well past producing I stopped watering and allowed them to "die back" only think maybe I killed 'em. any suggetions?

Strawberry plants don't die totally back. You should see some green or some white/pinkish live material near the crown of the plants. Sounds like you may have let them dry out and die. Here in S.C., zone 8, my plants never lose all of their leaves, and IMO would need to be watered enough to keep the ground a little moist all through the fall and winter.
