Strawberry Growing?

I have decided to start growing some strawberries, by roots that I have purchased. My two choices are:

1. A full sun garden down the road that I have to share with my neighbor, and is in a moderately trafficked area.

OR

2. Pots in my yard, which are partial sun/partial shade.

What would be my best option, and if its with pots, any recommendations on how to grow strawberries in pots?
