crack in melon, still good?

So its been windy here, 2 days ago one of my melons dropped like 4-5 foot, I thought the vine broke, but the leaves look fine, so its still alive lol.... Just today noticed a crack in the melon, must have clipped the edge of my balcony on its way down :(

My melon vines haven't been putting out female flowers, it has one almost ripe one, and this one that was growing crazy fast..... Do you fellas think it will live and go to be ripe? Or should I just snip it and hope I get another good female and it finishes? lol

Well thanks for all the help everyone! jk lol =P

Well it's still growing, so I guess it'll survive, it's most likely my last melon for the year as the season is closing. Since its been raining a lot lately I've been making sure the crack in it stays dry so rot doesn't happen. My balcony has a roof over it though, so unless rain is coming in sideways it stays dry :)

Sorry Towlieee,
I've had no experience with water melons but.....if there is no sign of rot in the slit by now, I reckon it's healing by itself.
Beside actual injury causing the split, variable weather and therefore erratic water uptake will do the same.
Good luck.
